Food and Sleep

Welcome Back!!

To snack or not to snack, that is the question.......

We all love a late night snack, but did you know a late night snack might be the reason you can't sleep?!  According to the Mayo Clinic, eating late at night can make it harder to sleep. But all is not lost!! Here are a few tips to help you get the rest that you need, even after a late night snack.

1. Avoid large, high-fat meals late in the day.
2. Avoid caffeine late in the day and alcohol at bedtime.
3. Don't drink too many fluids before bedtime.
4. Maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Keeping these tips in mind can help you get a good nights rest. According to the CDC, adults need about 7-8 hours of sleep a day to be the most productive. Don't allow the sandman to win!! Try your best to get as much done throughout the day and get to bed at a decent time.
